Barry Sears is a leading authority on the dietary control of metabolic pathways. He is the author of more than 50 scientific publications. He holds 14 U.S. Patents in areas ranging from intravenous cancer drug delivery systems and the dietary regulation of hormonal responses for the treatment of various metabolic diseases. He has written 19 books on dietary modulation of hormonal and epigenetic responses, including the #1 New York Times best-seller, The Zone. His books have sold more than six million copies in the U.S. and have been translated into more than 20 different languages.
Barry Sears has academic appointments at the University of Miami Medical School, Arizona State University, and the University of Cartagena Medical School in Colombia. He continues his research as president of the nonprofit Inflammation Research Foundation, where he investigates the hormonal and epigenetic effects of diet and their impact on the management of chronic diseases, including diabetes and various neurological conditions.
