Dr. George Shapiro is the Chief Innovation and Business Officer at Fountain Life, where he provides preventative and personalized medical care, focusing on the early detection of heart disease, neurodegenerative diseases, and cancer. He utilizes AI data-driven health platforms to identify diseases early, transforming the healthcare landscape from a sick-care model to a well-care model, aiming to reduce the burden of chronic diseases.
Dr. Shapiro has been a practicing physician for 35 years, specializing in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Age Management Medicine. He received the 10th Annual Alan P. Mintz, M.D. Award for Clinical Excellence in Age Management Medicine. Known nationwide as an expert in age management medicine, he led one of the most prominent age management practices in the country as President of Cenegenics New York City.
As an innovator, Dr. Shapiro has patented medical devices and developed new medical protocols. He is recognized as one of New York’s foremost cardiologists, specializing in regenerative medicine and improving longevity, including the genomics of cardiovascular disease and congestive heart failure. He is also the Chief Medical Officer of ZeoScientifiX, located at Nova Southeastern University’s Center for Collaborative Research. The company focuses on developing new technologies in biologic medicine.
Previously, Dr. Shapiro served as an Attending Physician at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons, Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at NYU School of Medicine, and Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor in Clinical Medicine at New York Medical College. He is active in 13 medical societies, has been a speaker for the Age Management Medicine Group (AMMG), and a long-standing member of the AMMG Conference Planning Committee (2005-present).
A graduate of New York Medical College, Dr. Shapiro completed his internship and residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, followed by a fellowship at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, where he focused on Cardiovascular Disease Management, including Congestive Heart Failure and Heart Transplantation. Dr. George Shapiro has served as a principal investigator in many FDA-approved studies related to the treatment of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) related to COVID-19 infection, and other chronic inflammatory diseases such as osteoarthritis, COPD, and TBI. He is named as an inventor on U.S. patents and has published peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and editorials.
