Ana Claudia Rosa, M.D., PhD
Vice Chief Ultrasound Division & Body MRI Assistant Consultant, Dept of Radiology, Omaha NWI VA Healthcare System, NE
Dr. Ana Rosa aka Dr. Ana Rosa Gratitude, MD, PhD, is a U.S. and Brazilian board-certified radiologist, physician educator, and speaker whose work focuses on the intersection of radiology, metabolic health, inflammation, and sustainable lifestyle transformation. She earned her medical degree from the Universidade Federal de Goiás in Brazil and her PhD in Imaging Medical Sciences from the University of São Paulo (USP). She completed the radiology residency and a fellowship training in both Brazil and the United States, including advanced training at the University of Minnesota, and has worked within both academic and clinical radiology environments in Brazil and the U.S. Dr. Ana Rosa’s perspective on metabolic health emerged through her own personal health journey and evolved into an integrated educational mission combining imaging science, metabolic dysfunction, lifestyle medicine, and behavior change. Rather than practicing as a metabolic physician, she brings the unique lens of a radiologist to metabolic disease — helping clinicians and patients better understand how chronic metabolic dysfunction manifests throughout the body long before catastrophic disease develops. Her educational work emphasizes the radiologic and physiologic manifestations of insulin resistance, chronic inflammation, visceral adiposity, sarcopenia, and myosteatosis across multiple organ systems, including: brain changes associated with insulin resistance, vascular dementia, cerebral atrophy, and Alzheimer’s disease (“type 3 diabetes” concepts), fatty liver disease, fibrosis, cirrhosis, and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), pancreatic dysfunction associated with prediabetes and type 2 diabetes, visceral fat accumulation and systemic inflammatory burden, muscle loss, body composition deterioration, and metabolic aging.
