Mark Sylvester, M.D.

Dr. Sylvester’s journey into medicine was sparked by a deep-rooted curiosity about the intricacies of the human body and mind. After earning his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Florida, he entered a Masters program in Neuropsychopharmacology and Psychobiology. He then pursued his Medical Degree at the University of Miami with a research fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine from the Feinberg School of Medicine and Department of Perceptual Studies with Bruce Greyson, MD. It was during his training in Psychiatry, Neurology, and Addiction Medicine that he began to question the conventional approaches to physical and mental health. Witnessing firsthand the limitations of traditional medical treatments, which often relied heavily on medications with mixed results with significant side effects, Dr. Sylvester sought a more holistic and integrative approach to healing. His quest led him to discover integrative and functional medicine through his own health journey, which emphasizes understanding the root causes of symptoms and treating the body as a complex, interconnected system. He then completed fellowships in A4M, IPI, and PAP. Driven by a passion to see patients not just manage their symptoms but achieve true healing, Dr. Sylvester founded Mind Body Medicine of Florida. Here, he envisioned a sanctuary where patients could receive comprehensive, multidisciplinary care that nurtures not only their physical health but also their mental and spiritual well-being. Through Mind Body Medicine of Florida, Dr. Sylvester aims to empower individuals on their journey to optimal health by addressing the underlying factors contributing to illness and promoting holistic healing.
