Glycobiology is an essential yet lesser-known field as it relates to Age Management Medicine and aging in general. Glycans play crucial roles in inflammation, immune function, and cellular communication. Additionally, the human glycome can change prior to disease development as well change in response to it, and can also be used to determine biological age. This lecture will serve as an overall review of glycans and the human glycome. This knowledge can be leveraged to provide a more precise approach in preventative and personalized healthcare. Age Management Medicine practitioners will learn the fundamental knowledge that will enable them to integrate glycobiological concepts into clinical practice. This includes changes to disease risk prediction, biological age testing and therapeutic interventions aimed at modulating the glycome. Integrating this knowledge will enhance disease risk reduction and will help optimize health span. Duration: 38m 21s
