Katrina J. Breece, MS is a clinical exercise physiologist and an avid health and fitness enthusiast. Mrs.
Breece is the Exercise and Lifestyle Specialist at Better Life Carolinas and has 14+ years of experience in
health, fitness, and preventive medicine. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Sports
Studies in 2007 and moved to Charlotte, North Carolina to pursue a master’s degree in clinical exercise
physiology. Breece was a graduate assistant for the University of North Carolina-Charlotte, where she
directed a grant-funded wellness program through local senior centers. Mrs. Breece also gained
experience in many areas of out-patient care, including cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, as well as
cancer rehabilitation, but specialized mostly in the aging populations during her years attending the
university. Mrs. Breece completed her thesis on “the effects of a resistance training program on
strength, range of motion, and ankle brachial index in arthritic geriatric patients;” and completed her
master’s degree in 2009. She went on to work in bariatric medical wellness and private personal training
before starting her position in age management with Dr. Michale Barber. Mrs. Breece has spent the last
9 years working in age management and providing excellent care to her patients. She is a certified
personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, an American College of Sports
Medicine member, and has been published in MOJ Gerontology & Geriatrics. Mrs. Breece has presented
to fortune 500 companies, as well as university classrooms on the importance of preventative health
and wellness.
