Clinical Applications of CBD, THC and Cannabis Derived Therapies for Age Management Medicine

 

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the Foundation for Care Management (FCM) and Age Management Medicine Group. The Foundation for Care Management is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

FCM designates this educational activity for a maximum of 8.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in this activity. The ACCME defines a “Commercial Interest” as any entity producing, marketing, re-selling, or distributing health care goods or services consumed by, or used on, patients.

Objectives – After attending this program you should be able to:

  1. Discuss the essential evidence-based science behind the approved use of CBD, Cannabis and Cannabis Derived Therapies as an adjunct to an Age Management Medicine practice.
  2. Summarize the legal medical use of Cannabis and CBD and the role of the Individual States, the DEA and FDA in the medical use.
  3. Discuss essential scientific information for the use of CBD, Cannabis and Cannabis Derived Therapies in patients with Neurological Disease such as Alzheimer’s disease, Dementia, and other disorders such as Autoimmune, Inflammatory Diseases and explain how to clinically apply this knowledge to individualized treatment plans to improve patient outcomes.
  4. Discuss essential scientific information for the use of CBD, Cannabis and Cannabis Derived Therapies in patients in other areas of medical use such as unique female issues, pain particularly as an alternative to opiates, and gastro-intestinal issues Autoimmune, Inflammatory Diseases and explain how to clinically apply this knowledge to individualized treatment plans to improve patient outcomes
  5. Summarize clinical practice guidelines and dosages for the use of Cannabis in the field of Age Management Medicine, understanding that the use may depends on the particular laws of the state where the legal use is permitted.

  • Complete the Course Evaluation in its entirety.
  • At the completion of the Course Evaluation you will be taken to a screen where you can immediately download and print a copy of your CME Certificate.
    • IMPORTANT: Do not exit the Evaluation until you have completed the Course Evaluation and downloaded your CME Certificate.
